Dominican University Is Hiring An Adjunct Instructor
Part-Time Adjunct Faculty – French and Italian Department 🌍
Dominican University is seeking a dedicated part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach courses in English within the Italian discipline for the Fall 2026 term. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Renaissance literature and culture, along with experience in college-level instruction and online teaching methods.
📝 Position Summary
The instructor will be responsible for delivering instruction in an asynchronous online format, managing course content, and supporting student learning. Adjunct faculty are contracted on a per-course basis, focusing on instructional delivery and academic engagement.
📚 Course Assignment
Courses will be offered asynchronously online, providing flexibility for both students and instructors.
🎯 Duties and Responsibilities
- Deliver course instruction aligned with the syllabus and learning outcomes
- Develop course materials and assessments relevant to the discipline
- Accurately submit grades and academic records on time
- Maintain availability for students through scheduled online office hours
- Respond promptly to student communication
- Adhere to university policies and accommodation procedures
- Coordinate with the Department Chair on course delivery and academic matters
🎓 Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Italian Studies
- Proven academic or professional expertise in Italian literature and culture
🌟 Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas)
- Relevant professional or applied experience in the field
💼 Salary and FLSA Status
- Salary: $3,000 – $3,500 per 3-credit course
- FLSA Status: Exempt, Part-Time (Adjunct Faculty)
