Key Responsibilities

• 🎓 Teach a comprehensive range of courses in Japanese language, literature, and culture.
• 📝 Prepare and deliver engaging learning activities aligned with course outcomes.
• 📂 Develop course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts.
• 📝 Evaluate and grade student work, including class assignments, laboratory exercises, papers, and exams.
• 📊 Maintain and submit attendance records, grades, and other documentation by deadlines.
• 🤝 Offer coaching and support to students outside of class hours.
• 🗣️ Participate in periodic meetings with supervisors and college staff for training and professional development.

Required Qualifications

• 🎓 Master's degree or higher in Japanese, or a related field with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in Japanese.
• 💻 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (or equivalent software).
• 🗣️ Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal.
• 🤝 Ability to respond appropriately to community needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• 🎓 PhD in Japanese.
• 🧑‍🏫 Prior teaching experience.

Compensation & Additional Notes 💰

🌟 The pay rate for this position is $942.00 per Equated Semester Unit (ESU).

🗺️ **Adjunct-Only Requirement:** Candidates must reside in Ohio and be within commuting distance of the campus to meet onsite demands from start to finish of employment.
