The World Languages and Cultures Department 🌏
This department serves a diverse student body through courses in:

Position Overview: Italian Adjunct Faculty 🎯
We invite qualified candidates to join our team as adjunct faculty, teaching Italian courses, developing educational materials, and supporting student success. Classes may be scheduled at the Brighton and/or Downtown Campus, online, or in hybrid formats, with both day and evening options available.
Responsibilities & Duties 📚
- Teach Italian courses and assess student performance following department and college guidelines.
- Serve as a liaison and mentor for dual enrollment instructors working with high school students.
- Prepare engaging lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Maintain accurate student attendance, grades, and records.
- Innovate teaching strategies to facilitate effective learning.
- Participate in professional development in pedagogy and discipline-specific topics.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the department chair.

Qualifications & Requirements ✅
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher in Italian or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Bilingual proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Italian.
- Availability for daytime teaching and work.
- Commitment to the philosophy of comprehensive community colleges.
- Proficiency with relevant technology tools.
- Interest or experience in developing online courses.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least two years of teaching Italian as a second language.
- Knowledge of diverse teaching strategies.
- Experience with educational technology and online teaching.
- Experience with student record management systems.
Additional Details 📅
Pay Rate (Fall 2025 & Spring 2026): Ranges from $1,217 to $1,484 per contact hour, based on adjunct rank.
Remote Work Policy: Work outside New York State is generally not permitted due to tax and legal considerations. Temporary remote work outside NY may be approved under specific circumstances.
