🔥 Essential Requirements

  • Commitment to fostering physical, spiritual, emotional, and social development of emotionally impaired adolescents and young adults.
  • Supporting the creation of a trauma-informed community for youth and families.
  • Regular monitoring and intervention as per individual treatment plans.
  • Serving as a positive role model in speech, behavior, and dress.
  • Physically and psychologically able to supervise groups safely and actively.
  • Availability to work scheduled days and hours with flexibility for last-minute schedule changes.
  • Completion of all required state-mandated orientation and training.
  • Ability to operate a 10-passenger school vehicle safely and maintain insurability with the Archdiocesan Insurance Office.

🌟 Other Duties & Responsibilities — Youth Focus

  • Provide and maintain a safe, structured environment for residents.
  • Support residents in daily life skills such as meals, housekeeping, and budgeting.
  • Maintain confidentiality for clients and staff at all times.
  • Follow medical instructions carefully when residents are ill.
  • Offer compassionate individual and group counseling.
  • Assist with medical needs and maintain medical logs, including medication administration following agency guidelines.
  • Ensure discipline and appropriate control, reporting any unusual behavior or abuse/neglect immediately.
  • Follow emergency procedures for alerts, medical concerns, and critical incidents.
  • Encourage participation in recreational, educational, religious, and spiritual activities.
  • Teach residents proper personal habits, safety, hygiene, and social skills.
  • Instruct on money management, job acquisition, and transportation for activities and appointments.
  • Ensure safety by wearing seat belts and obeying traffic laws when driving.

🕒 Third Shift Responsibilities

  • Remain alert and vigilant throughout the shift.
  • Calculate and record program points for each resident.
  • Conduct bed checks every 15 minutes and vary routine to maintain oversight.
  • Assist with laundry, wake-ups, and ensuring residents are prepared for school.
  • Serve breakfast and oversee morning routines.
  • Transport residents as needed to activities and appointments.

🤝 Team & Program Focus

  • Follow supervisory directives and complete tasks timely.
  • Work cooperatively within the interdisciplinary team.
  • Implement program rules and expectations effectively.
  • Attend all required meetings and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Manage budgets for activities and shopping responsibly.
  • Respect agency property and ensure vehicle maintenance and cleanliness.
  • Provide coverage at other group homes as needed.

🧠 Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid PA (or state) driver’s license with a clean record for the past three years.
  • Approval to drive from the Archdiocesan Insurance Office.
  • Valid Child Abuse, Criminal History, and FBI clearances meeting regulatory standards.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to perform physical escorts and restraints safely, as trained.
  • Ability to work within a faith-based organizational setting.

⚕️ Physical & Safety Requirements

  • Ability to interact daily with adolescents who may be verbally or physically assaultive.
  • Perform First Aid, CPR, and AED if necessary (training provided).
  • Intervene in physical altercations when required.
  • Frequently lift up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds; with assistance up to 100 pounds.
  • Regularly sit, walk, and stand for extended periods.
  • Occasionally bend, stoop, squat, and reach.
  • Drive a 10-passenger vehicle and escort residents in public locations.
