We are seeking a dedicated **World Language Teacher** skilled in either French or Spanish to inspire and educate students at the Sr. High level. If you’re passionate about language education and community involvement, this is the opportunity for you!

📝 Qualifications:
- Minimum Provisional Certificate issued by the Iowa Department of Education
- Minimum BA/BS degree endorsed for the specific assignment
- Demonstrated proficiency in the language and teaching skills
- Successful experience at the assignment/subject/level is preferred
- Additional qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board
🤝 Reports To:
Building Principal
🧑🏫 Supervises:
Students, Teacher Associates, and Volunteers as assigned
🎯 Performance Responsibilities:
- Instruct assigned classes at designated locations and times
- Plan engaging lessons tailored to student needs, interests, and abilities
- Create a supportive classroom environment conducive to learning
- Show evidence of class preparation upon supervisor request
- Encourage and maintain standards of classroom behavior
- Guide learning towards curriculum goals, establishing clear objectives for lessons and projects
- Use a variety of instructional techniques and media appropriate for students and physical settings
- Participate in curriculum development, staff training, and professional growth opportunities
- Implement district policies, educational philosophies, and instructional goals through teaching
- Regularly assess student progress and provide progress reports; administer standardized testing
- Diagnose student learning needs, consulting district specialists as needed
- Take precautions to ensure safety of students, staff, and resources
- Supervise students in out-of-class activities during working hours
- Maintain accurate, complete records compliant with laws and policies
- Assist in enforcing student conduct policies and develop reasonable classroom rules
- Be available to students and parents outside instructional hours when needed
- Plan and oversee assignments for aides and volunteers, monitoring their performance
- Strive for ongoing professional development and competence
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required
- Perform any other duties deemed acceptable by the Board

Bending, carrying, climbing, driving, lifting, pushing-pulling, reaching, sitting, standing, walking
🗓️ Terms of Employment:
- 180 student days, 10 in-service days, 5 holidays
- 8-hour workday
- As per the SEPEA/Southeast Polk School District agreement
📈 Evaluation:
The building principal will evaluate performance based on the master contract guidelines.
