Position: Women's Health Medical Assistant (Bilingual Arabic and/or Spanish) - Brooklyn 📋
We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our dedicated team as a Women's Health Medical Assistant. This role is integral in supporting healthcare providers and nursing staff in delivering exceptional patient care within our ambulatory care setting.
Key Responsibilities 🎯
- Respect and acknowledge patients' and coworkers' cultural backgrounds 🌍
- Complete laboratory tests and specialty referral forms accurately ✅
- Transport and accompany patients as needed 🚶♂️
- Monitor and alert nursing staff of patients requiring urgent care ⚠️
- Provide staff coverage at other FHC locations as directed 🏥
- Retrieve lab and ancillary test results efficiently 📝
- Assist with patient forms such as WIC 🧾
- Verify encounter forms and prescriptions for completeness ✔️
- Measure vital signs and physical measurements 🩺
- Plot growth charts for pediatric patients 📈
- Perform simple dressings and provide translation services as needed 🩹🗣️
- Coordinate supply requests and perform EKG, Holter, and venous phlebotomy 🩻
- Respond effectively to emergencies like cardiac or respiratory issues 🚑
- Accurately document patient data and care provided 📝
- Support and reinforce health education for patients and families 🧠
- Assist with clerical duties within the assigned area 🗃️
- Participate in staff meetings and ongoing educational programs 🎓
Minimum Qualifications 📋
- High School Diploma or equivalent required 🎓
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program 🎓
- Fluency in Arabic and/or Spanish required 🗣️
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required at hire and maintained throughout employment ❤️
Preferred Qualifications 🌟
- 1-2 years of ambulatory care experience preferred 💼
- Effective communication skills with all organizational levels 🗣️

Salary Range: $49,580.89 - $49,580.89 annually. Actual compensation depends on experience, education, and institutional needs. This range does not include bonuses, incentives, or other benefits.
