Role and Responsibilities
- Lead warehouse operations with a focus on safety, continuous improvement, relationship building, communication, and strategic thinking.
- Foster a safety-first culture through awareness, training, and accountability across all teams.
- Support operational leaders in achieving standards for service, quality, accuracy, and productivity.
- Encourage innovation, calculated risk-taking, testing, and learning within the environment.
- Motivate and inspire team members by understanding their strengths and providing guidance tailored to their development.
- Ensure clarity of goals through coaching, mutual accountability, and constructive feedback.
- Plan and execute priorities by structuring resources efficiently to meet departmental objectives.
- Maintain warehousing operations by implementing policies, procedures, and supporting store locations as needed.
- Manage safety compliance and ensure all safety documentation is current.
- Collaborate with departments to achieve business goals and maintain a freshness of products by adhering to rotation and dating policies.
- Oversee inventory management, including ordering, monitoring stock levels, and reporting discrepancies.
- Train and monitor equipment use to uphold safety and sanitation standards.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning warehousing, handling, and shipping.
- Communicate activities within the team to keep everyone informed and aligned.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage scheduling, including weekly time approvals.
- Assess seasonal and labor needs and propose adjustments as necessary.
- Follow and uphold cleaning schedules and other operational protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management to support team success.
Qualifications & Education
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or distribution environments with management/supervisory responsibilities.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency required.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, payroll, and recruitment systems.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse workforce and handle changing priorities with good judgment.
- Experience with the full staffing life cycle — interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and termination.
- Ability to train and develop current and new employees in department standards and product knowledge.
- Basic understanding of food safety practices and DOA standards (Quality control, rotation, etc.).
- Commitment to maintaining consistent dating of food items and a clean, organized workstation.
