Connecticut College Is Hiring A Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor
The French and Francophone Department at Connecticut College is seeking a full-time Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor in French and Francophone language, literature, and culture for the academic years Fall 2026 - Spring 2027. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in diverse teaching and contribute to a vibrant academic community. 🚀
About the Position
The department welcomes applications from candidates with a specialization in any area within French and Francophone studies. Preference is given to expertise in sub-Saharan African studies and nineteenth-century studies. The teaching load includes six courses annually, covering language courses at all levels, and may include intermediate and advanced literature courses.
Requirements include:
- Native or near-native fluency in French
- Minimum qualification: M.A.; Ph.D. preferred
We especially value the contributions visitors bring to our community and encourage active engagement within the department and campus life. Visiting faculty are appointed as participating members of the faculty, with the option to request voting membership. They are welcome at all faculty meetings. 🎓
