Position: Virtual Tutor for 4th-Grade Russian Language Support 🇷🇺

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, engaging, and energetic tutor to support a 4th-grade student in developing spoken Russian skills. The student benefits from a structured, interactive, and supportive environment, receiving special education services through an IEP. This role involves approximately 2 hours per month of virtual work, providing a meaningful opportunity to impact a young learner's development.

Qualifications 📋

• Fluency in Russian (native or near-native level)
• Previous tutoring or teaching experience preferred, especially with elementary-aged children
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, Linguistics, or related fields (preferred)
• TESOL or ESL certification (preferred)
• Experience working with neurodiverse learners, including students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or ADHD (a plus)
• Excellent rapport-building skills with a fun, outgoing, and humorous teaching style
• Creative, adaptable, and student-centered approach to instruction

Key Responsibilities 🎯

• Deliver 1:1 virtual instruction focused on developing spoken Russian language skills
• Use highly engaging, hands-on, and interactive teaching methods tailored to the student's learning profile
• Integrate student interests — such as video games (Among Us), Legos, art, and clay — into lessons to keep engagement high
• Foster a patient, encouraging, and structured environment to reduce frustration and support emotional regulation
• Adapt lessons based on the student’s strengths, needs, and IEP goals

Additional Information ⚙️

• Starting rate: $25/hour, with flexibility depending on experience and qualifications
• Time commitment: 2 hours per month (virtual sessions during Pacific Time hours)
