Overview
As a telephonic interpreter for Vietnamese within Language Services Associates, you will handle phone calls in real-time, facilitating communication for Limited English Proficient (LEP) clients in medical, legal, and customer service environments. We are continually seeking qualified interpreters to join our team!
Responsibilities 📝
- Provide effective telephonic remote interpreting services
- Answer inbound calls promptly and professionally
- Deliver superior customer service at all times
- Adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct, maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards
- Follow all policies, procedures, and interpretation protocols, including industry best practices
- Complete required training and participate in ongoing quality assurance monitoring
Qualifications & Experience ✅
- Full fluency in English and Vietnamese
- Proficiency with technology (web platforms, email, Microsoft Word)
- Access to a landline phone for sound quality
- A quiet, secure workspace free from outside noise
- At least 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (preferred)
- Industry-specific certifications or training (e.g., CMI, CCHI) (preferred)
- Proof of completing 40+ hours of medical interpreting training (e.g., Bridging the Gap, Cross-Cultural) (preferred)
