Position Type: Video-Phone Interpreter
Pay: $20 - $23 per hour (dependent on location, experience, and work availability)

Position Overview 📞

The Vietnamese Video-Phone Interpreter will handle on-demand calls, facilitating clear communication between Vietnamese and English speakers across various industries such as Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel & Hospitality, Business, Law Enforcement, Court, and 911.

This role involves verbal interpretation, not written translation, though translators and skilled linguists are encouraged to apply. The position is fully remote, requiring a quiet and secure home environment.

Essential Job Functions ✅

• • Conduct timely and professional video and audio interpretation sessions
• • Participate in online training sessions
• • Use your device (laptop, desktop, mobile, tablet) to deliver interpretation and input data
• • Convey meanings accurately, adhering to interpretation protocols
• • Speak clearly and professionally in both languages
• • Maintain a professional demeanor and cultural sensitivity throughout sessions
• • Stay calm, especially during emergency or high-stress calls
• • Be punctual and available during scheduled hours
• • Follow client instructions and protocol, ensuring client expectations are met with LEP clients
• • Understand industry-specific terminology (Medical, Insurance, Finance, Law)
• • Support a diverse, inclusive work environment
• • Handle emotionally challenging calls, sometimes for extended durations

Qualifications 🌟

• • Fluency in Vietnamese and English, with a strong grasp of cultural dynamics
• • Ability to assess regional and accent differences for effective communication
• • Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills for accuracy
• • Capacity to stay neutral and objective during sensitive calls
• • Background in language-related fields such as teaching, translation, or interpretation is a plus
