Overview

We are actively seeking qualified, professional, and experienced Vietnamese interpreters. Our role involves providing over-the-phone interpretation services 24/7/365 to support disaster relief efforts and humanitarian campaigns, handling both normal and surge call volumes during emergencies.

Essential Job Duties

• Provide over-the-phone consecutive interpretation between multiple languages and English, facilitating communication between government officials and individuals with limited English proficiency.
• Perform sight translation, reading written documents aloud in another language as needed.
• Conduct quality control reviews of translated documents to ensure accuracy and clarity.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least one (1) year of training, education, or relevant experience in interpretation.
• Highly proficient in both English and Target Language, with an ILR scale of 2+.
• Fluent in English and Target Language, capable of handling various language registers, regional colloquialisms, and slang, with clear pronunciation.
• Ability to maintain the tone and emotional level of the speaker, managing delivery, pace, and pauses effectively.
• Ability to interpret accurately while maintaining proper speed and projection, seeking clarification only when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing interpretation services for FEMA disaster relief and humanitarian efforts.
