Overview

SOSi is actively seeking qualified, professional, and experienced Vietnamese interpreters. Our role involves providing 24/7/365 over-the-phone interpretation services to support disaster relief and humanitarian campaigns, handling both normal operations and surge call volumes during emergencies.

Essential Job Duties

• 🔄 Provides over-the-phone consecutive interpretation between multiple languages and English, facilitating communication between government representatives and individuals with limited English proficiency.
• 📝 Performs sight translation, reading written documents aloud in another language as required.
• 🔍 Conducts quality control review of translated documents to ensure accuracy and clarity.
• ⚙️ Performs other duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Possess one (1) year of training, education, or related experience in interpretation.
• Highly proficient in both English and Target Language, with an ILR scale of 2+.
• Ability to speak English and Target Language fluently, including various registers, regional colloquialisms, and slang, with clear pronunciation.
• Capable of preserving speaker tone and emotion, managing delivery pace, and appropriately pausing as needed.
• Maintain appropriate speed and projection during interpretation, requesting clarification only when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing interpretation for FEMA disaster and humanitarian relief efforts.
