About the Role

As an Over-the-Phone (OPI) Interpreter at Homeland Language Services, you will facilitate clear communication between non-English and English speakers across various industries. You will deliver precise, transparent, and efficient interpretation services, demonstrating your linguistic expertise and professionalism.

Your Responsibilities ✅

• Answer calls professionally, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.
• Take notes during calls to ensure accuracy.
• Familiarize yourself with industry-specific vocabulary, especially in healthcare and medical fields.
• Participate in internal professional training sessions.
• Seek new certifications to enhance your skills.
• Communicate and report updates to your team leader.

Your Background and Experience 🌟

• Proficiency at a bilingual or native level in English and Vietnamese.
• Minimum of 1+ years interpreting experience.
• Good knowledge of medical terminology.
• Legal terminology knowledge is a plus.
• International healthcare certifications (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA) are preferred.
• High school diploma in your native language.
• High emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.
• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory skills.

Technical Requirements ⚙️

Since this is a fully remote position, your home office setup must meet the following specifications:

• A Mac or Windows computer: MacOS 10.13+ or Windows 10+ with a Pentium or i3 processor (minimum Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz; recommended i5/i7 2.4 GHz+).
• At least 4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended).
• Stable Ethernet connection with at least 4 Mbps download/upload speeds. (Wi-Fi is not permitted.)
• Noise-canceling wired USB headset.
