Exciting Opportunity: Vice President of Human Resources / Head of HR
Join a well-established manufacturing company with over 10 years of success and more than $375 million in revenue as their new Vice President of Human Resources. This strategic leadership role oversees all HR functions across multiple sites, focusing on fostering a strong culture, compliance, recruitment, and retention—especially in rural communities. 🚀
Note Regarding Hybrid Work 🏡
While this role is ideally based onsite five days a week, the company is open to considering strong candidates with longer commutes for a hybrid schedule of three days in the office.
Key Responsibilities
🌟 Talent Acquisition & Workforce Strategy
- Lead full-cycle recruiting across multiple facilities and corporate teams, tailoring strategies to specific site labor needs.
- Build local and regional pipelines through community outreach, workforce development programs, and partnerships with educational institutions and agencies.
- Develop strategies to reduce turnover, enhance onboarding processes, and promote internal career growth for both hourly and salaried staff.
📝 HR Operations & Compliance
- Manage payroll processing, timekeeping, and benefits administration across all locations.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA, EEO, FLSA, and I-9 regulations.
- Standardize HR policies while accommodating site-specific operational needs.
💻 Technology & Systems (HRIS/HRMS)
- Lead implementation and management of HR platforms like Workday, UKG/Kronos, ADP, or similar systems.
- Optimize system usage to streamline workflows, enhance data accuracy, and support reporting.
- Analyze workforce data to inform strategic decisions and ensure compliance.
🚀 Leadership & Organizational Development
- Build and manage a dispersed HR team, developing site-level HR managers and corporate HR support.
- Advise senior leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, and succession strategies.
- Oversee training programs focusing on compliance, leadership skills, and performance management.
🎯 Culture & Employee Engagement
- Promote a culture rooted in safety, accountability, and respect aligned with company values.
- Implement employee engagement initiatives tailored to a diverse, multilingual workforce.
- Maintain HR visibility at each site to foster open communication, trust, and responsiveness.
✨ Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Over 10 years of progressive HR leadership, including at least 5 years in a multi-site manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with HRIS/HRMS platforms such as Workday, UKG/Kronos, ADP.
- Extensive experience recruiting and retaining talent in rural or remote communities.
- Knowledge of compliance standards in regulated industries (e.g., OSHA, FSIS, E-Verify).
- Experience managing payroll and benefits for diverse employee groups.
- Strong cultural competency and bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus.
- Willingness to travel regularly to facilities and community sites in Central Virginia.
