The Interpreter facilitates communication for Limited English Proficient (LEP) patients, their families, healthcare providers, and staff. Your role includes advocating for LEP patients to access comprehensive healthcare services, providing intercultural mediation, and supporting culturally sensitive patient care. A commitment to delivering excellent customer service, safeguarding patient privacy and safety, and fostering teamwork is essential.

Job Details

• Type: Onsite
• Location: Stafford, VA
• Schedule: Typically during regular business hours (8 AM - 6 PM), with some Saturdays based on client needs
• Pay Rate: Depends on certification and experience

Qualifications & Background 🔎

• Experience: Minimum 1+ years of medical interpreting or a successful internship in healthcare or human services settings
• Certifications: Not mandatory but preferred (e.g., CMI, CHI, CCHI, interpreting diploma, NBCMI, 40-hour medical interpreting course)
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Language Skills: Fluency in spoken and written English and Urdu, with a preference for native-level proficiency
• Skills: Professional-level medical interpreting and brief translation capabilities
