π₯ Job Description
I. Position Summary
Perform diverse clerical, secretarial, and reception duties in accordance with established policies and guidelines, working under the supervision of the Director of Nursing (DON). Demonstrate a strong commitment to the philosophy and goals of the unit and the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center.
II. Position Responsibilities
- π€ Communicate with patients, families, visitors, and healthcare professionals in a respectful, caring, and sensitive manner.
- π Maintain confidentiality of patient and unit information.
- β‘ Prioritize work to provide prompt and efficient service.
- π Answer calls: Screen calls, take and relay messages. Pick up and deliver mail, screen patient mail, and refer as needed. Act as unit receptionist, guiding visitors, families, or staff to appropriate persons or locations.
- βοΈ Prepare correspondence and reports. Order supplies in a cost-effective manner.
- π Perform daily clerical duties such as data entry, editing, report preparation, drafting memos, and documenting meeting minutes using computer skills.
- πΆββοΈ Transport patients within the Center to clinics or designated areas as requested.
- π Review patient records for completeness and accuracy, maintain current files, and oversee the monthly MDS process.
- π Coordinate appointments, unit meetings, and activities.
- π Maintain and update unit records, reports, and bulletin boards.
- π©Ί Transcribe doctors' orders for patient appointments and collaborate with licensed nurses to review medication and treatment charts.
- ποΈ Participate in scheduling processes with the Director of Nursing.
- π§ͺ Label all equipment used for patient care.
- π Assist with staffing, including entering electronic timesheets and updates.
- π Support educational activities such as new staff orientation, preparing educational materials, and training staff in computer skills.
- β Follow departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
- π Engage in educational programs, unit meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- π Uphold professionalism and embody values that contribute to the mission of the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center.
- π§ Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
III. Qualifications
- π High School diploma or equivalent, with post-secondary specialized training.
- π₯οΈ Strong secretarial/clerical skills, including proficiency in computer applications and medical terminology.
- πΌ Prior secretarial/administrative experience preferred.
- β Completion of HRC orientation and competency assessment.
- π‘οΈ Annual participation in hazards communication, infection control, fire safety, and elder abuse education programs.
