Position Overview
We are seeking bilingual and multilingual professionals to work as freelance interpreters in a 1099 Independent Contractor role. As an interpreter, you will help facilitate communication for those in need, supporting language access and inclusion.
Work Schedule: Appointments are available Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
Appointments are based on need and are not guaranteed. Interpreters start at $25 – $30 per hour, depending on factors such as availability, experience, and language demand.
Requirements
- Fluency in English and your target language, with a thorough understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural nuances 🌐
- Previous interpreting experience, ideally in medical, legal, or educational settings 🏥⚖️🎓
- Professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills 💬🧠
- Ability to operate basic communication equipment 📞
- Flexibility to work in various settings and adapt to multiple environments 🔄
- Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (Please note: we do not offer visa sponsorship) 🇺🇸
- High School Diploma or equivalent, or certification in interpreting or related fields 🎓
