Position: Freelance Interpreter (1099 Independent Contractor)

Be part of a meaningful mission — support language access for all and make a positive societal impact as a freelance interpreter. Set your own schedule, choose your availability, and work on appointments that fit your life.

Work Schedule & Compensation

• Appointments available: Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
• Pay rate: Starting at $25 – $30 per hour, depending on language, experience, and demand
• Note: Appointments are based on need; availability cannot be guaranteed.

Requirements

• Language proficiency: Fluency in English and your target language, with strong understanding of idiomatic speech and cultural patterns
• Experience: Previous interpreting experience preferred, especially in medical, legal, or educational settings
• Professionalism: Punctuality, adaptability, and a strong work ethic
• Skills: Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities
• Equipment: Ability to operate basic communication devices
• Work location: Must be based in and authorized to work in the US (please note, we do not offer visa sponsorship)
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; interpreting certification is a plus

3. If you meet the initial requirements, you'll complete a skills assessment and background check.
