What You'll Be Doing

This role involves performing skilled consecutive, first-person interpretation under direct supervision, following well-defined policies and procedures. While there are limited opportunities for independent judgment, most non-routine issues are referred to a supervisor. This description applies across all languages spoken by interpreters.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities 🔑

• Provides meaning-for-meaning interpretation to ensure accurate communication.
• Follows CyraCom's interpreter protocols as outlined in training, policies, and procedures.
• Adheres to confidentiality and interpreter ethics policies.
• Attends all required interpreter training sessions.
• Continuously enhances vocabulary and knowledge in specialized areas like medical, legal, or social services.
• Maintains confidentiality in accordance with company policies.
• Utilizes standard office equipment such as telephones, computers, copiers, and fax machines.
• Operates MS Office applications including Outlook, Word, and browsers like Edge.
• Demonstrates punctuality, reliability, and the ability to complete tasks on schedule.
• Communicates effectively in English and the target language, both verbally and in writing.
• Works independently and as part of a team, demonstrating adaptability and proper interaction with others.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 🧠

• Fluency in English and the target language.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Basic understanding of linguistics and cultural nuances.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
• Calm and effective reactions in emergency situations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Capable of working independently with initiative within company policies.
• Strict adherence to confidentiality policies.
• Ability to inform supervisors of issues promptly.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and operating standard office equipment.

Qualifications ✅

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in English and at least one additional language, as assessed through our Language Checkup.
