Credit and Lending Sales Representative

Key Responsibilities
- Customer engagement: Understand customer needs and provide credit and lending-related advice to BMO customers or prospects.
- Advisory role: Guide customers on borrowing strategies and products that align with their objectives.
- Sales & Service: Fulfill sales and service activities adhering to approved procedures and protocols.
- Referrals: Identify and refer customers to other business groups as needed.
- Channel Management: Utilize various communication channels aligned with market needs to enhance customer experience and meet business targets.
- Training & Coaching: Provide guidance and support to junior associates to foster team development.
- Customer Insights: Probe to understand customer needs and offer advice on personal banking and borrowing strategies in their best interests.
- Transaction Management: Oversee transactional outcomes, escalating complex cases to managers when necessary.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure accurate documentation and maintain up-to-date knowledge of banking products, practices, and trends.
- Research & Investigation: Research lending applications following established processes.
- Customer Contact: Handle all customer inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Marketing Integration: Incorporate marketing promotions into customer conversations when appropriate.
- Confidentiality & Security: Safeguard customer and Bank information, reporting suspicious activities linked to money laundering.
- Regulatory Adherence: Comply with regulations including AML, financing, FCAC provisions, and Privacy Act.
- Credit Decisions: Make informed credit recommendations following sound principles and Bank policies.
- Complex Tasks & Escalations: Manage diverse tasks within guidelines and escalate issues as needed.
- Issue Analysis: Analyze problems and determine appropriate next steps.
- Additional Responsibilities: Broader work assignments may be provided based on business needs.
Qualifications & Skills
- Typically 2-3 years of relevant experience with a post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of personal lending and home financing products
- Understanding of the competitive marketplace and current product trends
- Familiarity with contact center operations, processes, and technology
- Term Investment Qualified (as required)
- Language Skills: Proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese is essential
- Communication & Organization: Strong verbal and written skills, good organizational abilities
- Collaboration & Problem-Solving: Effective team player with analytical skills
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $34,200.00 - $63,000.00 (based on role, location, skills, experience, and qualifications). Salaries may include commissions and performance incentives. Part-time roles are pro-rated. The total compensation package may include bonuses, perks, health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement plans.
