Overview

The Translator will provide comprehensive translation services for individuals facing language barriers. The scope includes but is not limited to fields like Education, Legal, Medical, Environmental, and Social Services. This role aligns with Cayuse’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values, ensuring culturally sensitive and accurate translations.

📝 The Work:

Responsibilities

• Key Responsibilities: Accurately translate spoken language in contexts such as lectures, conversations, and meetings.
• Utilize technology to transcribe spoken English in applicable settings.
• Read original documents and translate them into the target language.
• Edit and refine translated versions for clarity and accuracy.
• Maintain cultural sensitivity for both the source and target languages during translation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

🛠️ Qualifications – Here’s What You Need:

• High School diploma, BA Degree, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3+ years of translation and interpretation experience, specifically in Hindi.
• Certified Translation Professional with ATA Certification.
• Experience with U.S. government agencies such as the State Department, Health & Human Services, FDA, and others, especially in contexts involving refugees, legal, medical, and housing services.
• Fluent in Hindi and able to pass a background check (additional checks may be required).
• Discretion and impartiality in all translation tasks.
• Proficiency in written communication and a broad knowledge across various topics.
• Strong social awareness, empathy, and cultural sensitivity for effective interpretation.
• Physical stamina and dexterity for extended sessions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Acrobat.
• Highly motivated, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Able to build professional relationships and work effectively both individually and in teams.
