Overview

TheTranslator will provide translation services for individuals facing language barriers across various sectors, including Education, Legal, Medical, Environmental, and Social Services. This role aligns with Cayuse's Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

The Work: Responsibilities

• Key Responsibilities:
• Accurately translate spoken work situations such as lectures, conversations, and meetings. 🎙️
• Utilize technology to transcribe spoken English in applicable settings. 💻
• Read original documents and translate them into the required language. 📄
• Edit translated versions for accuracy and clarity. ✍️
• Be sensitive to cultural nuances of both original and target languages during translation. 🌍
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications — Here’s What You Need:

• High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of translation/interpretation experience in Hindi.
• Certified Translation Professional and ATA Certification.
• Experience with State Department, refugees, FDA, Health & Human services, Medical, Legal, Housing Authority, etc.
• Fluency in Hindi. 🗣️
• Ability to pass background checks, with potential additional checks as required.
• Discretion and impartiality in translation facilitation. 🔒
• Proficiency in written communication. ✉️
• Broad knowledge across various topics.
• Strong social awareness with empathy and attentiveness. ❤️
• Cultural awareness when translating across regions. 🌐
• Physical stamina and dexterity for extended sessions.
• Problem-solving skills. 🧩
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat). 🖥️
• Highly motivated with multitasking capabilities.
• Ability to build relationships and work independently or as part of a team. 🤝

Deputy Program Manager

Working Conditions:

• Remote professional environment. 🏡
• On-call availability; notified within 48 hours of potential jobs. 📱
• Ability to perform duties for extended periods, both physically and mentally.
• Proficiency in computer use and office productivity tools.
• Ability to establish a productive workspace. 🖥️
• Ability to sit for long hours at a computer screen.
• Flexibility to work holidays, travel for business or professional development, and outside standard hours.

Compensation

Pay Range: USD $60.00 - USD $80.00 per hour
