Overview

The Translator will provide essential translation services for individuals facing language barriers, covering areas such as Education, Legal, Medical, Environmental, and Social Services. All duties will align with Cayuse’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

• 🗣️ Accurately translate spoken language in varied contexts like lectures, conversations, and meetings.
• 📝 Use technology to transcribe spoken English where applicable.
• 📄 Read original documents and translate them into the target language.
• ✂️ Edit translated materials for clarity and accuracy.
• 🌍 Be sensitive to cultural nuances of both the original and target languages throughout the translation process.
• 🧑‍💼 Perform additional duties as assigned.

🎓 Qualifications – Here’s What You Need

• 🎓 High School diploma, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience
• 🗣️ 3+ years of translation/interpretation experience in Hindi
• ✅ Certified Translation Professional
• 🎖️ ATA Certification and other translation certifications
• 🏛️ Experience with State Department, refugees, FDA, Health & Human Services, Medical, Legal, Housing Authorities, etc.
• 🗣️ Fluency in Hindi
• 🔍 Ability to pass background checks (may include additional checks based on project needs)
• 🤝 Discretion and impartiality in translation facilitation
• ✍️ Strong written communication skills
• 🌐 Wide-ranging knowledge across various topics
• ❤️ Empathy and social awareness for interpretation
• 🌎 Cultural awareness for region-specific translations
• 💪 Physical stamina and dexterity for extended sessions
• 🧩 Problem-solving skills
• 💻 Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat)
• 🚀 Self-motivated with multitasking abilities
• 🤝 Ability to build relationships and work independently or as part of a team
