The Therapist plays a critical role in delivering prevention, diversion, and early intervention services in the community, helping girls build resilience and reduce risk behaviors through a holistic clinical approach.
🎓 Qualifications & Education
- Required:
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience working with at-risk youth (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Licensed or eligible for licensing as a Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Clinical Social Worker
- Understanding of culturally relevant needs of diverse populations
- Knowledge of case management and community behavioral health practices
- Familiarity with youth development principles
- Proficiency with computers and office equipment
- Knowledge of youth and family laws
🛠 Roles & Responsibilities
🌟 Direct Care Services
- Increase girls’ resilience by fostering protective factors at individual, family, and community levels
- Develop holistic assessments, set goals, and create care plans to address risk factors
- Empower girls and families to strengthen relationships, self-efficacy, and self-advocacy
- Apply the Transtheoretical Model of Change and Cultural-Relational Theory, considering trauma history and strengths
- Deliver weekly therapy in various settings (school, home, community, center) using evidence-based approaches
- Support families through counseling to facilitate positive change
- Use solution-focused counseling to address substance abuse risks per Florida Administrative Codes
- Provide crisis intervention, risk assessments, and family support when necessary
- Conduct girl-centered psycho-educational and life skills groups
- Manage wrap-around services, including transportation, collaboration, referrals, and resource advocacy
🔍 Non-Direct Care & Care Planning
- Participate in clinical supervision and contribute to care planning
- Advocate within the community via conferences and events
- Complete eligibility assessments, clinical documentation, care and transition plans
- Collaborate with schools and agencies to support girls’ progress, integrating gender-responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based programming
- Contribute to program outcomes and data collection
- Perform other assigned duties

- Ensure integration of Six Developmental Domains and Gender-Responsive practices daily

- Be available to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Capable of traveling (car, plane, train) with occasional overnight stays
