Role Description

This is a remote position for a Thai OPI/VRI Interpreter at AsiaLocalize. As an interpreter, you will deliver accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation services during OPI/VRI sessions, ensuring seamless communication between healthcare providers and Thai-speaking patients. Upholding confidentiality and professionalism is essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide precise and clear interpretation of verbal communication between Thai-speaking patients and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy standards such as HIPAA.
• Interpret complex medical terminology accurately in both Thai and English.
• Facilitate effective communication and ensure understanding, demonstrating cultural sensitivity.

Qualifications

• Fluent in Thai and English (spoken and written)
• Proven experience in medical interpretation – certification in medical interpretation is REQUIRED (e.g., CCHI, NBCMI)
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology in both languages
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to perform well under pressure while maintaining professionalism
• Cultural competence and sensitivity in engaging with patients from diverse backgrounds
• Capable of maintaining confidentiality and complying with legal and ethical standards
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends (if needed)

Must-Have Qualifications

• Previous experience as a medical interpreter or in a healthcare setting
• Certification or accreditation in medical interpretation
