Role Description

This is a remote opportunity for a Thai OPI/VRI Interpreter at AsiaLocalize. You will provide accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation during OPI/VRI sessions, facilitating clear communication between healthcare providers and patients while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism throughout each interaction.

Responsibilities

• Interpretation Services: Deliver accurate and clear verbal interpretation between Thai-speaking patients and healthcare providers.
• Confidentiality: Ensure patient privacy and adhere to standards such as HIPAA.
• Medical Terminology: Accurately interpret complex medical language in both Thai and English.
• Communication Facilitation: Promote understanding and cultural sensitivity during interactions.

Qualifications

• Fluency in both Thai and English (spoken and written).
• Proven experience in medical interpretation; certification in medical interpretation (e.g., CCHI, NBCMI) is a MUST.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology in both languages.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism.
• Cultural competence and sensitivity when working with diverse patient backgrounds.
• Commitment to confidentiality and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if needed.

Must-Have Qualifications

• Experience as a medical interpreter or within a healthcare setting.
• Certification or accreditation in medical interpretation.
