The Role
We are seeking a Territory Account Executive to add to our newly established field sales team. This role focuses on delivering a truly local experience to our sellers across targeted markets. Your mission is to engage authentically, demonstrate Square's values, and foster long-term relationships with local businesses. This is a hunter, field-based sales role. 🕵️♂️
Key Responsibilities
- In-Person Selling: Conduct face-to-face sales in your community, sourcing leads through demos, discovery, and closing deals within the Square ecosystem. 80% of your time will be spent onsite.
- Community Engagement: Maintain a pulse on local sellers, support onboarding, and partner with local organizations to generate referrals and grow your pipeline.
- Lead Generation: Perform 50-60 drop-ins weekly, leverage referrals, alliances with community partners, and host or attend local events to boost brand awareness and drive new business.
- Solution Demonstration: Develop proficiency in demoing Square hardware and software solutions, ensuring successful onboarding for new sellers.
- Partnership Building: Collaborate with channel sales to identify and develop referral relationships with complementary partners.
- Market & Needs Understanding: Deepen knowledge of restaurant, retail, and service-based industries to tailor solutions effectively.
- Sales Performance: Achieve and surpass monthly sales targets and KPIs, tracking progress through Salesforce.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years in full-cycle sales, preferably with field sales experience
- Technical Background: 2+ years in payment processing or related tech (payroll, loyalty, etc.)
- Industry Knowledge: 1+ years working with restaurants, retail, or service businesses
- Proven Record: Consistently exceeding sales targets and closing complex deals
- Independence & Drive: Ability to self-manage deals in a fast-paced environment
- Business Development: Skilled at cold calling and hunting for new opportunities
- Transportation: Reliable transport and residency within your market area
- Education: BA/BS degree or relevant experience
- Languages: Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish is required
- Technical Skills: Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools
- Industry Familiarity: Knowledge of restaurant, retail, or service operations (preferred)
Compensation & Benefits
Our pay structure is market-based, varying by geographic location:
- Zone A: $148,700 - $223,100
- Zone B: $138,300 - $207,500
- Zone C: $130,900 - $196,300
- Zone D: $123,400 - $185,200
