Job Description

The Teller I operates within a TD Store, playing a vital role in delivering legendary customer experiences while processing banking transactions accurately and efficiently. This role also involves educating customers on TD's products and services or referring them to specialized partners.

Depth & Scope

  • Deliver on TD's Brand promise by providing a Legendary Customer experience
  • Perform customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and safe deposit operations with high accuracy
  • Process cash transactions such as check cashing, currency verification, balancing cash drawers, and night deposits
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns using standard procedures, escalating issues when necessary
  • Lead within the lobby by welcoming customers and guiding their flow
  • Understand customer preferences and educate on self-service and digital banking options
  • Act as an advocate by conducting needs-based conversations and referring customers to appropriate solutions or partners
  • Make sound decisions and resolve problems promptly, escalating complex issues appropriately
  • Ensure compliance with operational policies and regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act
  • Verify customer identities following authentication policies
  • Balance cash drawers, ATMs, and TCRs accurately
  • Follow safe deposit box procedures and maintain confidentiality of customer information
  • Manage cash limits and secure cash at all times, ensuring security and audit compliance
  • Utilize bank tools to detect and prevent fraud
  • Complete all required training by established deadlines

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 6 months of work-related experience preferred; equivalent experience through volunteering, education, or military service also considered
  • Flexibility to work during operating hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Customer Service skills preferred
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Excellent communication skills—clear, concise, and consistent

Physical Requirements
