Job Description

The Teller I plays a vital role at a TD Store location, delivering legendary customer experiences while processing banking transactions with precision. They also educate customers on TD's products and services or refer them to specialists for tailored solutions.

Depth & Scope

  • Execute TD's Brand promise through exemplary behaviors ensuring a Legendary Customer experience
  • Handle customer transactions like deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and safe deposit services efficiently
  • Verify currency, balance cash drawers, and process night deposits with high accuracy
  • Respond to customer inquiries and address concerns using standard procedures, escalating issues when necessary
  • Lead the lobby by welcoming customers, managing flow, and providing guidance
  • Understand customer preferences and educate on self-service and digital banking options
  • Conduct needs-based conversations, offering financial and digital solutions or referring to specialists
  • Make sound decisions and resolve problems promptly, escalating complex issues appropriately
  • Maintain compliance with regulations such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act
  • Verify customer identities following authentication policies
  • Balance ATMs, Teller Cash Dispensers (TCDs), and Recyclers (TCRs)
  • Adhere to safety deposit box protocols and safeguard cash and confidential information
  • Follow security measures to prevent fraud, and complete all required training on time

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: 6 months related experience; equivalents include volunteering, education, or military service
  • Flexibility to work during operating hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Customer service skills and strong organizational abilities
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills and adaptability to fast-paced environments

Physical Requirements

Various physical activities including frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional lifting under 25 lbs. or over 25 lbs., with others like squatting, bending, and reaching occasionally. Continuous concentration and safety awareness are necessary.
