Job Description 📝

The Teller I operates in a TD Store, delivering legendary customer experiences by processing everyday banking transactions accurately and efficiently. They also educate customers on TD's products/services and refer them to specialists when needed.

Key Responsibilities & Scope 🔑

  • Deliver on TD's Brand promise through consistent behaviors fostering a Legendary Customer experience
  • Perform customer transactions: deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, safe deposit box payments
  • Handle cash transactions with high accuracy: check cashing, currency verification, cash balancing, night deposits
  • Resolve customer inquiries, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Lead lobby flow—warm greetings and guiding customers effectively
  • Understand customer preferences, promote self-service/digital banking options
  • Engage in needs-based conversations, offering financial solutions or referring to partners
  • Make timely decisions, resolve problems, escalate complex issues
  • Ensure operational compliance with bank policies and regulations (e.g., BSA, Patriot Act)
  • Verify customer identities following authentication protocols
  • Balance cash drawers, ATMs, TCDs/TCRs reliably
  • Follow procedures for safe deposit boxes and secure cash/storage areas
  • Maintain confidentiality of customer information at all times
  • Adhere to security measures, dual control procedures, and fraud prevention tools
  • Complete all required training by designated deadlines

Qualifications & Experience 🎓

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred: 6 months of relevant work experience or equivalent (volunteering, education, military)
  • Availability to work during operating hours, including weekends, evenings, holidays
  • Customer service skills preferred
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented mindset
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, changing environments
  • Excellent communication skills: clear, concise, and consistent

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions 🚶‍♀️

  • Frequent performing of sedentary tasks, multi-tasking, and operating office equipment
  • Continuous concentration, reading, writing, and performing basic math
  • Frequent walking and standing; occasional sitting, lifting, bending, and reaching
  • Occasional travel, safe movement in confined spaces, and light lifting over 25 lbs.
  • Ability to respond quickly to sounds and operate in a secure, controlled manner
