Red Hat’s Localization team seeks an experienced Technical Translator proficient in Mandarin to support our global software documentation efforts — remote in Australia!

About the Role

As a part of our team, you will handle various translation tasks — including reviewing, quality assurance, and translating our software interfaces and documentation. Collaborate with subject matter experts across regions and work closely with other translators to ensure high-quality outputs.

What You'll Do 🚀

• Post-edit machine translations of Red Hat's technical content into Mandarin, covering software manuals and knowledge base articles
• Translate software user interfaces
• Collaborate with fellow translators and cross-functional teams
• Coordinate with Red Hat’s technical writers, software engineers, and subject-matter experts for clarification and improvement of translations
• Incorporate feedback from users of Japanese documentation to enhance translation quality, including feedback from customers and internal teams

What You Bring 🌟

• Professional or advanced translation skills and strong writing ability in Mandarin
• High proficiency in Bash scripting is essential
• Desirable: Experience in Python
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of Perl
• Basic or intermediate skills in Japanese translation and writing
• Ability to work with a global, cross-functional team
• Strong research skills in IT topics to ensure accurate translations
• Experience adapting software UI and documentation from English to Mandarin is a plus
• Familiarity with translation management systems and MT/LLM tools is an advantage
• Engineering background is a bonus
