🎯 About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Translator to support the translation, review, and quality assurance of our software interfaces and documentation. This remote role based in Australia offers the chance to collaborate with international teams and make an impactful contribution to our open source solutions.

What You Will Do 🛠️

• Post-edit machine translations of Red Hat technical content into Mandarin, including software manuals and knowledgebase articles
• Translate software user interfaces
• Collaborate with other translators to ensure consistency and quality
• Coordinate with Red Hat's technical writers, software engineers, and subject-matter experts for clarification and improvements
• Utilize user feedback from Japanese technical documentation to enhance translation accuracy, engaging with both customers and internal teams

What You Will Bring ⚙️

• Professional or advanced translation proficiency and strong writing skills in Mandarin
• High-level Bash scripting experience required
• Knowledge of Python (desirable) and Perl (nice-to-have)
• Basic translation and writing skills in Japanese are a plus
• Ability to work effectively within a global, cross-functional team
• Research skills to ensure accurate and high-quality IT translations
• Experience localizing software user interfaces and documentation from English to Mandarin is advantageous
• Familiarity with translation management systems and MT/LLM technologies is beneficial
• Engineering experience is a plus
