About the Role

The Red Hat Localization team is seeking an experienced Technical Translator skilled in Mandarin. You will be responsible for translating, reviewing, and ensuring the quality of our software user interfaces and instructional documentation. Collaborate with subject matter experts both domestically and internationally, working closely with fellow translators in your language scope.

What Will You Do? 💼

• Post-edit machine translations of Red Hat's technical content into Mandarin, including software manuals and knowledgebase articles
• Translate software user interfaces
• Collaborate with other translators to maintain consistency and quality
• Work with Red Hat's technical writers, software engineers, and subject-matter experts to clarify and optimize translations
• Incorporate user feedback from Red Hat's Japanese technical documentation to enhance translation accuracy and clarity; these users include customers and internal teams

What Will You Bring? 🌟

• Professional or advanced translation skills and strong writing ability in Mandarin
• Proficiency with Bash — a high level is essential
• Knowledge of Python (desirable) and Perl (nice-to-have)
• Basic to intermediate translation and writing skills in Japanese are a plus
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a global, cross-functional team
• Research skills to ensure precise and high-quality IT translations
• Experience localizing software UI and documentation from English to Mandarin is advantageous
• Familiarity with translation management systems and MT/LLM technologies is beneficial
• Engineering background or experience is a plus
