About the Role 🌟

We are seeking to appoint a passionate Teacher of Languages (Spanish and French) to deliver engaging lessons that foster curiosity, confidence, and academic excellence. The successful candidate will teach Spanish at GCSE and A Level, and French up to at least KS3. Beyond academics, you'll support the Catholic ethos of the school, aiding students' spiritual, personal, and intellectual growth. The role requires a commitment to excellent teaching, collaborative teamwork, and safeguarding our students.

Key Responsibilities 📝

  • Support and uphold the Catholic ethos of the School, as outlined in the Mission & Ethos Statement and Aims.
  • Contribute to the School Development Plan and promote its strategic aims.
  • Set high expectations to inspire, motivate, and challenge students.
  • Demonstrate strong subject and curriculum knowledge in Spanish and French.
  • Plan and deliver well-structured lessons tailored to diverse student needs.
  • Adapt teaching methods to support students with EAL, SEND, and those who are more able.
  • Utilize assessment effectively to monitor and support student progress.
  • Implement both formative and summative assessment strategies relevant to the curriculum.
  • Provide timely feedback by marking students' work to a high standard.
  • Manage behaviour to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
  • Engage in students’ personal development and contribute to school life beyond the classroom.
  • Participate fully in the performance management process and strive for excellence in accordance with the Teachers’ Standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and partake in departmental and whole-school initiatives.

Qualifications and Expectations 🎓

  • Commitment to the aims and ethos of a Catholic independent boarding and day school.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, IT, and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of child development and safeguarding protocols.
  • Ability to motivate others, build effective teams, and collaborate with parents.
  • Willingness to engage in professional development and adapt to flexible working requirements.
