Position Overview
Location: Pin Oak Middle School
Department: Pin Oak MS

Contract Duration: 10 months
Salary Range: $64,000.00 – $89,500.00
Academic Year: 2026-2027
Position Summary
Provides students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Illustrative Duties
- Plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning suited to students' maturity and interests.
- Prepare lessons reflecting accommodations for individual differences.
- Show written evidence of class preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
- Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Guide the learning process towards curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects to communicate these to students.
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and media, considering physical limitations and student needs.
- Implement the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals through instruction and action.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide progress reports as required.
- Refer students for evaluation by district specialists when necessary.
- Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities by taking necessary precautions.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records in accordance with laws and policies.
- Assist administration in implementing policies and rules governing student conduct. Develop and enforce fair classroom behavior rules.
- Maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Be available to students and parents for education-related matters as needed.
- Plan and oversee purposeful assignments for teacher aides and volunteers, evaluating their performance in collaboration with department heads.
- Maintain and improve professional competence through ongoing development.
- Participate in district staff development programs.
- Attend staff meetings and serve on committees.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues.
- Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, and community members.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Texas Teacher Certificate appropriate for the level and/or subject area of assignment.

Other Requirements
- Effective written and oral communication skills for all management levels.
- Ability to establish and sustain effective working relationships within and outside the district.
- Visual acuity to focus, judge distance, and manipulate keyboard and materials.
- Capability to lift up to 10 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, walk, twist, bend, climb, and be mobile.
- Willingness and ability to travel district-wide using private or public transportation. If using a personal vehicle, a valid driver’s license and insurance are required.
