Job Description 📚

Primary Purpose 🎯

Provide all students with appropriate learning experiences that help them reach their full potential—intellectually, emotionally, physically, and socially. Enable students to develop essential competencies and skills for success in society and actively contribute to the district’s mission and strategic plan.

Qualifications 📝

Education/Certification/Licensure

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Valid Texas certificate for the subject and level assigned

Special Knowledge/Skills 💡

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge and demonstrated competency in the subject area
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
• Openness to change and innovation to meet student needs

Experience 🧪

• At least one-year student teaching or approved internship

Major Responsibilities and Duties 🎯

• Guide students' learning in accordance with district philosophy and curriculum goals
• Align teaching practices and resources with district curriculum
• Present subject matter following guidelines from TEA, policies, and district standards
• Conduct ongoing assessments and use results to inform instruction
• Collaborate with teachers to adapt curricula for special education, 504, ELL, and GT students
• Work with instructional leaders to enhance teaching practices
• Provide accelerated instruction for students meeting “at risk” criteria
• Coordinate instructional goals, objectives, and methods with staff
• Supervise extracurricular activities and sponsor approved outside activities
• Utilize available technologies as teaching tools and incorporate technology into lessons
• Plan and supervise teacher aide(s) and volunteer activities
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Maintain confidentiality and establish open communication channels
• Create a conducive learning environment tailored to student development
• Manage student behavior per CCISD policies
• Protect and care for school property and instructional materials
• Maintain accurate student records and grading documentation
• Follow administrative regulations and district policies
• Use data effectively for analysis and decision-making
• Participate in professional development to improve instruction and student achievement
• Stay current on educational practices and policy updates
• Attend meetings, serve on committees, and complete required legal documentation
