🏫 Job Opportunity: ELD Itinerant Teacher
📝 Job Summary
The ELD Itinerant Teacher serves as the district-wide instructor for English Language Learners (ELLs). Responsible for providing vocabulary, grammar, and conversational instruction, this role ensures the implementation of English Language Proficiency Standards, district curriculum, and discrete skills inventory. The teacher reports directly to the site principal and the ELAD department.
Candidates must complete an online application, including Arizona certification, valid IVP fingerprint clearance, evidence of highly qualified status, three recommendation letters, and academic transcripts.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Utilize district and state-adopted curricula for instructional planning and delivery.
- Collect and analyze student achievement data via assessments, portfolios, and other tools to inform instruction.
- Foster positive relationships with classroom teachers and parents while maintaining open communication channels.
- Attend professional development sessions and adapt work schedule flexibly.
- Collaborate effectively with other ELD itinerant teachers and staff.
- Demonstrate expertise in subject matter, instructional strategies, and resource utilization.
- Assist with additional duties relevant to the assignment and district objectives.
🎓 Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Language, ESL, or a related field.
- Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate.
- SEI, ESL, or Bilingual Endorsement.
Experience
- 1-3 years of teaching experience.
- Knowledge of Second Language Acquisition.
- Experience managing schedules across multiple locations.

🧑💻 Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Frequent travel between schools or districts.
- Work may be based in classrooms, offices, or small groups.
- Support during lessons, small groups, or individual sessions.
- Participation in meetings such as IEPs, staff development, and family communication.
- Standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs of instructional materials.
