Job Summary
The Student Assistant will serve as a Japanese Language Tutor supporting students at either the Statesboro or Armstrong Campus starting Summer 2026. This role is ideal for students enrolled in language studies or related fields.
Note: Student employees are limited to working a maximum of 1,300 hours within a 12-month period.
Responsibilities
- Assist students learning Japanese
- Maintain attendance logs via Google Docs
- Participate in tutor training sessions
Shift Details
- Up to 6 hours per week
- Flexible scheduling
- Shifts available Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Qualifications
Educational Requirements 📚
- Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University
Preferred Qualifications 🌟
- Pursuing a degree in World Languages and Cultures
- Successful completion of JAPN 2002 (Intermediate Language II) or equivalent with a grade of "B" or better
Compensation & Benefits
Proposed Salary: $12.00 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
