La Salle College Preparatory is seeking a dedicated and skilled teacher to instruct both French and Spanish to high school students, contributing to a vibrant educational community focused on faith, inclusivity, and academic excellence.

About the Position

This full-time role involves developing engaging curriculum, fostering student growth, and actively participating in school community life, with a focus on teaching grades 9-12 in both languages.

Responsibilities

• Language Instruction: Teach a full load of French and Spanish courses including French I–IV, Spanish I–IV, Spanish 2 Honors, and Spanish 3 Honors, along with mentoring classes.
• Program Development: Lead the growth and enhancement of the French program.
• Curriculum & Assessment: Plan lessons, deliver instruction, and evaluate student progress according to departmental guidelines.
• Student Supervision & Events: Supervise students and school events as assigned.
• Meetings & Professional Development: Attend faculty, department meetings, and professional growth activities.
• Community Engagement: Participate in key school events such as graduation, back-to-school night, and open house.
• Additional Duties: Evening and weekend work may be required, along with other responsibilities as assigned.

Terms of Employment

Start Date: August 1, 2026
End Date: May 28, 2027

Renewable based on school needs and performance.

Reporting Line

Reports To: Department Chair and Vice-Principal

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in French, Spanish, or related field
• At least two years of teaching experience in the subject area
• Collegial, collaborative team player
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to connect with and motivate high school students
• Background check clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree or California teaching credential
• Experience teaching in a Catholic school environment

Compensation & Benefits 💼

Salary range: $50,000 - $100,000/year DOE
