Role Overview

Our Solution Engineering organization is looking for a Data Engineering Specialist to join the Applied Field Engineering team. In this role, you will provide technical leadership by working with both technical and business executives to design and architect the Snowflake Cloud Data Platform as a critical component of enterprise data ecosystems.

You will collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer needs, strategize for successful sales cycles, deliver compelling demonstrations, support proof of concepts, and close deals. Your expertise will highlight Snowflake’s capabilities across data ingestion, transformation, and lakehouse workloads, engaging with a diverse audience from technical experts to business leaders.

What You Will Do 💼

• Apply multi-cloud data architecture expertise to present Snowflake technology and vision to executives and technical contributors across strategic prospects, customers, and partners.
• Engage hands-on with prospects and customers to demonstrate Snowflake’s value through demos, proofs of concept, and implementations throughout the sales cycle.
• Maintain industry awareness by understanding competitive and complementary technologies, and positioning Snowflake effectively.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, and Marketing to enhance Snowflake’s products and go-to-market strategies.

On Day One, We Expect You To Have 🏆

• 10+ years of experience in architecture and data engineering within the enterprise data domain.
• 5+ years of pre-sales experience (e.g., Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect).
• Fluency in Spanish (native or native-level) and strong proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Exceptional presentation skills tailored for both technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to connect customer business problems with Snowflake solutions.
• Deep discovery skills in customer architecture frameworks and their integration with Snowflake Data Architecture.
• Broad experience with large-scale database, data warehouse technologies, ETL, analytics, and cloud solutions (e.g., Data Lake, Data Mesh, Data Fabric).
• Hands-on development experience with SQL, Python, Pandas, Spark, PySpark, Hadoop, Hive, and other big data technologies.
• Strong understanding of data integration tools for ETL/ELT pipelines, such as Apache NiFi, Matillion, Fivetran, Qlik, Informatica.
• Experience with streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Flink, Spark Streaming) and real-time use cases like CDC.
• Experience designing interoperable data lakehouse architectures with Iceberg, Delta, and Parquet.
• Solid architectural expertise enabling confident presentations and Q&A with diverse audiences.
• Educational background: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related fields.

Your salary will reflect your skills, experience, and location, with total pay ranging from $184,000 to $241,500, including base salary and commission.
