Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Director of Social Services, the Social Worker serves as the primary contact for individuals seeking benefits and entitlements within the community. 🤝

About You

• Excellent communication skills — verbal, written, and computer proficiency
• Trained in interviewing, client assessment, eligibility determination, community resource navigation, and information/referral processes
• Experience managing benefit applications through ACCESS HRA
• Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds, including socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic differences 🌎

What You'll Do

• Manage a caseload of assigned clients
• Conduct comprehensive screenings and assessments for all individuals contacting the social services department, including pantry and workforce clients
• Provide counseling and educational guidance on available services 🗣️
• Assist clients with qualifying benefits applications
• Make internal referrals to programs such as GED, ESL, Career Connections, and CHIPS
• Collaborate with CRED program participants and the JCC Career Connections team to support clients through workforce applications and training barriers
• Refer clients to external agencies as needed
• Coordinate with off-site programs like Cornerstones to share and gather service information
• Screen pantry clients for additional needs and offer support
• Create and maintain a database of mental health resources in the community 💻
• Coordinate and facilitate support groups
• Maintain detailed records of outreach, contacts, outcomes, and statistical data
• Attend relevant training sessions and community events
• Ensure adherence to funders’ protocols
• Perform any other projects assigned by the supervisor

Our Requirements

• Master of Social Work (MSW) degree required
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in social services
• Bilingual abilities in Hebrew, Spanish, and/or Russian are preferred

Salary & Benefits

Salary: $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience 💰
