Social Worker II - Position Overview

The Social Worker II operates as a vital member of the social service team, working closely with the Building Manager and reporting to the Clinical Coordinator or the Director of Clinical and Social Services.

This is an exempt role requiring a Master's Degree (MSW). The Social Worker II is expected to work independently, developing one-on-one relationships with residents to provide comprehensive social work services that promote safe and independent lifestyles within the community.

  • WSFSSH encourages MSW-level staff to obtain their licensing.
  • We offer study groups for exam preparation.
  • Financial assistance is available for study courses and up to 2 licensing exams, including registration and licensing fees.
  • Once an MSW obtains their LMSW, WSFSSH covers costs for reasonably priced CEU credits.
  • Weekly clinical supervision is provided by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Being a waivered agency with the NYS Education Department, WSFSSH allows LMSWs to have their work experience count towards an LCSW.
  • After approximately 3 years of full-time employment, LMSWs are eligible to apply for their LCSW.
  • Expenses related to testing, licensing, and CEUs to maintain licensure are also covered by WSFSSH.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents in obtaining and maintaining medical and mental health services.
  • Support residents with entitlement applications and maintenance.
  • Help residents access and sustain home care services.
  • Coordinate care between residents and community service providers.
  • Provide ongoing case management and support tailored to resident needs.
