Social Worker I - Bilingual Spanish Only 🌟
The Social Worker I is a vital member of our social service team, working closely with both residents and staff. Reporting to the Clinical Coordinator or Director of Clinical and Social Services, and collaborating with the Building Manager, this role involves providing comprehensive social work services tailored to residents' needs.
About the Position 📝
- Exempt Employee: Requires a Master's Degree (MSW preferred).
- Autonomous Work: Capable of working independently while building trusting 1:1 relationships with residents.
- Goal: Support residents in establishing safe, independent lifestyles within the community.
Professional Development & Licensing Support 📚
We strongly encourage MSW-level social workers to obtain their licensure. WSFSSH offers:
- Study groups for licensing exam preparation.
- Payment for up to 2 licensing exams and registration/licensing fees.
- Coverage for reasonably priced CEU credits after obtaining LMSW.
- Weekly clinical supervision by an LCSW.
- Work experience count towards licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with potential eligibility after 3 years of employment.
- Coverage for testing and licensing fees for the clinical license.
- Support in maintaining the LCSW license through CEUs costs.
Responsibilities 🔹
- Assist residents with access to medical and mental health services.
- Support residents in securing entitlements and home care services.
- Coordinate care among community providers.
- Help residents rebuild family and social connections.
- Encourage participation in socialization and community activities via referrals.
- Guide residents with budgeting, income management, and timely rent payments.
- Follow up during hospitalizations or short-term rehab stays.
- Manage discharge planning and necessary documentation.
- Provide individual counseling and escort residents to appointments.
- Offer crisis intervention and facilitate group work sessions (recreational, educational, clinical).
- Participate in resident intake processes and team meetings.
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with staff and share resident progress appropriately.
- Prepare incident reports and uphold diversity, equity, and inclusion standards.
- Maintain case records, support plans, and psychosocial histories accurately.
- Implement emergency protocols when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications ✅
- Master’s of Social Work (MSW) preferred; MA in human services with two years' experience acceptable.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish is required.
- Experience with older adults, mental health, and substance use preferred.
