The Role 🎯
We are seeking a proactive Social Worker with a strong work ethic and sense of urgency. No Hebrew language skills are required, and we encourage candidates from traditionally underrepresented groups to apply!
What You’ll Do 📝
- Create and maintain organized documentation of services and referrals for students and families
- Complete progress notes and reports aligned with mandates and ethical standards
- Set ambitious goals and develop intervention plans to support student success behaviorally and academically
- Track and measure the impact of counseling and interventions based on individualized goals
- Provide both individual and group counseling tailored to student needs
- Build strong relationships with families to support student growth
- Manage child abuse reporting and mandate reporting procedures
- Coordinate with external providers to connect families with community resources
- Conduct home and community visits as needed for assessment and support
- Maintain high visibility and presence during school hours for students and staff
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement social-emotional learning programs
- Work with staff to promote solutions-oriented approaches to challenges and student behaviors
- Participate in staff meetings and school-wide events, along with other duties as assigned
Who You Are 🌟
- Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in New York; Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred
- Experience serving school-aged children
- Knowledge of multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) is a plus
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
- Experience in urban school settings is preferred but not required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
