Role Overview

The ideal candidate will serve as a Russian Senior Linguist, engaging in activities such as translation, transcription, and interpretation to support US interagency efforts. The role also encompasses a range of ancillary linguistic activities including:

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Translation

• Translate complex texts containing idiomatic, scientific, and colloquial language
• Capture subtleties, nuance, tone, and register, including socio-cultural elements
• Ensure expressions reflect native usage and cultural context

Transcription

• Interpret highly complex idiomatic speech with high accuracy
• Possess excellent command of spoken dialects and comprehension
• Convey cultural expressions and nuances effectively

Interpretation

• Review audio materials and transcribe information into English accurately
• Operate communications collection equipment proficiently
• Understand investigative terminology and interception minimization protocols
• Maintain strong interpretation skills at all times

General Responsibilities

• Maintain prompt and consistent attendance
• Perform other duties as assigned by senior management

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Near-native proficiency in Russian (reading, writing, speaking) 🇷🇺
• Near-native proficiency in English 🏴
• Understanding regional dialects
• Adherence to translation, transcription, and interpretation protocols
• Proficiency with MS Office and Internet research 💻
• Ability to review and ensure quality in work of peers

Client & Security Interface

This role involves interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including senior FedSys management and US Interagency partners.

Security Clearance Requirements

• Must pass background and drug screening ✅
• Currently possess a Top-Secret security clearance for the duration of employment 🔒
• Must meet eligibility and suitability standards for a security background check
• Clearance level may be revised as per government requirements
• Currently required: TS/SCI FS Polygraph 🛡️

Additional Requirements

Must be a U.S. Citizen 🇺🇸
