Job Description
Description, Duties, and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will serve as a Senior Korean Instructor (CAT III), demonstrating strong teaching experience and effective learning methodologies. You will:
- Provide 3 to 5 hours of daily instruction on course-related material at S/L/R levels 0 to 3
- Work under the supervision of experienced trainers
- Engage in tester training to become a certified language tester
- Conduct 3 to 4 language tests per week
- Develop class materials and training aids tailored to your classes
- Teach students speaking skills and promote cultural awareness through concise communication
- Maintain professional performance during working hours
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Near-native proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Korean
- Near-native proficiency in English communication skills
- Good understanding of regional dialects and current events
Educational & Work Experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Education or Language (preferred)
- At least two years of teaching experience or 8 to 12 years of relevant professional experience
- Experience in Language Testing, Course Design, Content Management, and Quality Control
- Expertise in linguistic and cultural summarization and report writing
Interface & Interaction
This role involves direct interaction with both internal teams and external clients, including members of FedSys Senior Management and the U.S. Interagency Community.
Professional & Certification Requirements
- Pass the Basic English Test (BET) with a minimum score of 90%
- Complete a Translation Assessment (TA)
- Achieve scores of 5/5/5 in Speaking/Listening/Reading (S/L/R)
- Minimum S/L/R score of 4-4+ for translation
- Core working hours: 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- At least 10 years of relevant experience
Security Clearance & Additional Requirements
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
- Ability to pass background and drug screenings
- Subject to government security investigations and clearance eligibility
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Physical Demands
