The Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB) is hiring a Secretary (Scanning Clerk) with bilingual Spanish skills preferred. Join our dedicated team to support individuals with developmental disabilities in Alameda and Contra Costa counties!

Position: Secretary (Scanning Clerk) (Bilingual Spanish Preferred)

Salary Range

  • Non-Bilingual: $1,940.75 - $2,867.37 biweekly | $50,459.50 - $74,551.62 annually
  • Bilingual: $2,060.75 - $2,987.37 biweekly | $53,579.50 - $77,671.62 annually

New hires with no prior Regional Center experience will start at the beginning of the salary scale.

Responsibilities

  • Produce digital copies of documents for record retention ๐Ÿ“„
  • Prepare records for scanning
  • Record technical, item, and structural metadata
  • Organize scanned documents across local, network, and storage devices
  • Type letters and correspondences
  • File electronic and paper documents
  • Perform data entry tasks
  • Answer phone calls and assist visitors
  • Order office supplies
  • Operate and troubleshoot office equipment including copiers, fax, postal machines, and scanners
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations ๐Ÿ”’
  • Provide administrative support to Case Managers as needed
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to bend and retrieve files from cabinets
  • Willingness to learn new skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Meet productivity standards
  • At least 1 year of office experience
  • Typing speed of 40 WPM
  • Experience troubleshooting office equipment (preferred)
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Effective teamwork and supervision skills
  • Proficiency in operating computers and scanners
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred)
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Spanish language skills (preferred)
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity towards diverse populations
