Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement innovative French language curricula aligned with educational standards and best practices in language acquisition.
  • Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate learning technology, creative writing, and interactive activities to enhance student participation.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing and project-based assessments.
  • Provide individualized support through tutoring, academic advising, and mentoring to help students achieve their language proficiency goals.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively, fostering a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and respect.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and integration of library services to enrich the educational experience.
  • Maintain detailed records of student performance, attendance, and instructional activities in accordance with school policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven classroom experience teaching French at the secondary level with a strong understanding of classroom management techniques.
  • Expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment strategies, including AP style and Chicago Manual of Style for academic writing.
  • Familiarity with learning technology tools, literacy education methods, and standardized testing procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage diverse student populations.
  • Organizational skills for lesson planning, record keeping, and coordinating extracurricular activities.
  • Experience in private or independent school settings is a plus; familiarity with Montessori or special education approaches is advantageous.
  • Strong research skills and knowledge of educational administration practices to support continuous improvement efforts.

Compensation & Location

  • Pay: $67,500.00 - $128,444.00 per year
