Job Description

Partner with the VP, peers, brokers, and distributor network to develop, execute, and drive our sales strategy targeting the U.S. grocery store channel — covering both National and Regional Retail Accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Partnership & Leadership: Collaborate with the VP, brokers, and distributor network to craft and implement sales strategies for retail accounts across the U.S.
  • Broker Network Management: Manage and motivate brokers at all levels, ensuring alignment with sales goals.
  • Sales Performance & Profitability: Achieve budgeted revenues and team sales targets, maximizing profitability.
  • Operational Planning: Contribute to preparing the annual departmental operating budget, marketing plan, and overall business strategy.
  • Sales Activities: Oversee daily sales operations, develop new accounts, maintain existing relationships, and execute sales strategies outlined by leadership.
  • Distribution & Promotion Plans: Develop and execute distribution targets, manage customer forecasts, and oversee trade spend to meet company guidelines.
  • Customer Relationships: Build strong, credible relationships with customers through meetings and site visits to meet or exceed sales projections.
  • Market Analysis & Reporting: Assist in producing monthly sales reports and forecasts to identify market trends and opportunities.
  • Revenue Growth & Market Share: Coordinate activities to increase revenue and monitor performance to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with R&D, Production, Quality, and other teams to develop products and improve quality based on feedback.
  • Food Trends & Product Development: Keep the team updated on food trends for creating new SKUs and enhancing existing recipes.
  • Product Quality & Sensory Evaluation: Participate in sensory tasting sessions to provide immediate feedback on product quality.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent the company at nationwide food shows to explore new business opportunities.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Collaborate with the CEO on the implementation of new sales initiatives.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
  • Experience: 3–5 years of proven leadership in a sales organization within the food industry.
  • Broker Management: Experience managing food brokers.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of sales cycles across customer types: retailers, wholesalers, food services, etc.
  • Market Experience: Prior experience in mainstream markets preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Organization & Prioritization: Ability to organize and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel domestically and/or internationally within the assigned territory.
  • Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Google Apps, MS Office Suite, etc.
